The post-mortem examination of the six deceased was conducted at the Shaheed Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital (SNMMCH), Dhanbad, on Tuesday. The family members of the victims demanded adequate compensation and job for the kin from the officials of the contract firm and the railways. "Had the rule on erecting overhead masts after snapping power been followed, our family members could have been alive today," alleged the kin.
Referring to the investigation team constituted by the railways, the senior divisional commercial manager of the Dhanbad division, Amresh Kumar, said, "The inquiry committee, led by the chief electrical locomotive engineer, is likely to submit its report within a fortnight."
